As a biologist, educator, and administrator, Beverly seeks to apply her knowledge in efforts that bridge the gap between the biomedical community and the public. Having navigated a variety of clinical laboratory, academic research, outreach, and allied health care positions, she is excited to share her expertise in supporting the next generation of STEM and clinical health care workers. Beverly is a sought-after speaker on a variety of topics, ranging from effective equity strategies, biology and STEM outreach.
Academically, Beverly holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Marquette University, graduate training in Sustainability Leadership and Social Innovation from Edgewood College, and most recently completed a Master of Science in Reproductive Endocrinology Physiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She investigated Anti-Mullerian Hormone’s role in inhibiting meiotic progression in the follicles of human and non-human primates with polycystic ovary syndrome as PCOS as a research model, informing biological understanding of developmental origins contributing to maternal morbidities.
She also completed a Global Health Fellowship studying Health Systems through the Student National Medical Association. Currently, Beverly is a PhD student in Clinical Investigation at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, exploring early detection of pre-eclampsia.
Professionally, Beverly functions as a lecturer and strategist who designs and implements projects and programs that center equity in pathways to STEM and healthcare. She works closely with senior leaders across the academic medical center.
Beverly is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Honored Instructor Recognition- University of Wisconsin-Madison (2011), the Outstanding Woman of Color Award for UW-Madison (2017), the Wisconsin Women in Government Rising Star Award (2018), Excellence in Premedical Education Award, Student National Medical Association (2023), and Lecturer of the Year, Physician Assistant Program, University of Wisconsin-Madison (2024).
In her spare time, Beverly enjoys reading, is an avid Star Trek enthusiast, and is a power lifter.
